Dan - this is one area I would like to participate in. Once we get some more members and interest I would like to start some additional discussions.

Hello all,Kamyar Enshayan, the guy behind the Black Hawk County local food initiative in Iowa, is coming to keynote a local food-to-institutions conference being coordinated by Rhonda and Pete on Monday, March 2. You will hear more about that soon. Here's a short bio of Kamyar and a Leopold Center news release about the Black Hawk County food initiative. http://www.iowaartscouncil.org/programs/folk-and-traditional-arts/iowa-roots/season-five/kamyar_enshayan.shtml http://www.leopold.iastate.edu/news/newsreleases/2008/041808_UNI.htm He is available to meet with Lawrence officials and interested business folks the next morning, March 3. I am hoping we might arrange something similar to the breakfast meeting we orchestrated for Ken Meter. Dan Do you find this valuable? |

Hey ya'll,Looks like I'm a little late on the thread here, but I've worked on this issue before and would be excited to help. The last place I lived, I worked to get local food into the cafeteria of my wife's seminary. I have some good resources that I'd be happy to share. Please give me a call or email. mknollwilliams at gmail.com or 785-330-3256. Peas, Matt Do you find this valuable? |

I am a local parent and advocate of the Slow Food movement- I would love to be a part of these discussions and I'm happy to share any information with other interested parents in town. The Farm to School website farmtoschool.org may be a good resource to use...
