Who is interested in discussing providing farm products directly to institutional food programs like schools and senior homes? Do you find this valuable?

Dan - this is one area I would like to participate in. Once we get some more members and interest I would like to start some additional discussions. Do you find this valuable?

Hello all,

Kamyar Enshayan, the guy behind the Black Hawk County local food initiative in Iowa, is coming to keynote a local food-to-institutions conference being coordinated by Rhonda and Pete on Monday, March 2. You will hear more about that soon. Here's a short bio of Kamyar and a Leopold Center news release about the Black Hawk County food initiative.

He is available to meet with Lawrence officials and interested business folks the next morning, March 3. I am hoping we might arrange something similar to the breakfast meeting we orchestrated for Ken Meter.

Hey ya'll,

Looks like I'm a little late on the thread here, but I've worked on this issue before and would be excited to help. The last place I lived, I worked to get local food into the cafeteria of my wife's seminary. I have some good resources that I'd be happy to share.

Please give me a call or email. mknollwilliams at gmail.com or 785-330-3256.

Peas,

Matt

I am a local parent and advocate of the Slow Food movement- I would love to be a part of these discussions and I'm happy to share any information with other interested parents in town. The Farm to School website farmtoschool.org may be a good resource to use... Do you find this valuable?
